Hi There
Sorry this aint super8, but its very close! Can anyone tell me if Double8 film has been discontinued or not?
Wil Kodak still process it?

it has been discontinued, but it's still available on core as a special order item, so you can get it from some places that buy this in bulk and spool it up for you. and if it's kodachrome, kodak will still process it, yes.

i have bought film from here and john is great to deal with.

almost correct. the stock still comes from kodak and you can still buy it in the united states. the problem is that it's a special order item, which means you have to buy a lot at a time, plus it's on 400' core rolls which has to be cut down and put on 25' or 100' daylight spools. this is where john schwind and other enter the stage, since they do this for you.

we are talking double 8mm, not double super8. the black & white stocks sold by john schwind are both from kodak and europe. the fomapan is from the czech rebublic. it's really good film too. very rich and smooth texture to the grain. almost like tri-x, but with better grain. like if you mixed tri-x and plus-x into one film stock.
